Spray scanner

The spray scanner is used for a very precise and automated measurement of the cross flow distribution of a field crop sprayer or a set of hydraulic nozzles mounted on a standard boom.

Spray scanner

Technique

  • The spray scanner consists of a receiver-unit with 0.10 m grooves which moves along an aluminium rail installed beneath the spray boom
  • Standard spray boom
    • 12 m boom width, 0.50 m nozzle spacing
    • max. deviation nozzle height < 0.01 m
    • 4 sections, pressure accuracy ± 1%
  • The measuring set-up and protocol fulfils the requirements set by ISO 5682-2 'Equipment for crop protection - Spraying equipment - Part 2: Test methods for hydraulic sprayers'

Application

  • Measurement of spray distribution (CV) of a set of nozzles or a field crop sprayer
